Ken rubbed his head as he awoke. The people disregarded the poor boy who had appeared out of nowhere as if his appearence was an everyday occurence.
Of course, this is The Pathways, so it was, but you already know that.
Standing up, he felt for the essentials. His D-Terminal, his D-3, his digimon partner. All were as they should be, but that didn't put the former boy genius and evil overlord at ease. "I don't think we're in Odaiba anymore Wormmon," he replied hesitantly to Wormmon.
"Yes, that seems to be the case," Wormmon stated as Ken picked him up. "I wonder where we are."
Ken nodded in agreement. "Me too. Maybe we should ask around." The two tried their best to get something, anything, out of the people passing by, but every time, they were merely shook off as being some poor kid and his stuffed animal looking for his mommy.
In his dejected state, he didn't even notice a blue light flicker into existance on his D-3, signaling another DigiDestined nearby.

"I'm hungry Davissh."
Davis sighed. "So am I Veemon. And you're ALWAYS hungry." he said, rubbing his stomache. "Man, we've been here for a while now, and I can't find anyone I know. What if T.J. makes a move on Kari while I'm gone!"
Veemon just shook his head and shrugged. "You never give upsh, do you Davissh?"
"DARN RIGHT I DON'T! KARI IS MY GIRL!" he yelled, just barely hearing his D-3 beep at him. "Huh?" he said, looking at it. He saw a black light flicker on it. "Is that...Ken?" He noticed it was just around the corner, so he ran around it and looked. Off in the distance, sure enough, there was Ken walking. Laughing, Davis jumped up into the air pumping his fist. "KEN! HEY KEN! OVER HEEEEEERE!"

Ken's head snapped up at his name being called. "Huh? Davis? Is that really you?" Rushing up to his friend, he embraced him in a big hug. "We've been looking all over for you!" he nearly screamed. "There was no trace of you anywhere. Even Azulongmon and Gennai couldn't find you."
Finally letting go of Davis, his eyes were ready to burst with tears. He felt embarrassed by his unusual display of emotion, but the relief he felt from finding his friend safe and sound trumped that. "What happened? Where are we?" he asked, hoping to find out a little more about their present situation.

"Don't get all mushy on me dude, yuck." he said, pushing Ken away jokingly. He smiled. "It's good to see you too Ken. I missed everyone."
"As for where we are, heck if I know. All I hear is a bunch of whispers about someplace called 'The Pathways'. I thought maybe this was some wierd area of the Digital World, but Veemon has never heard of it."
Popping up, Veemon said. "That'sh right! How'sh it going there Wormmon!"
Davis nudged Ken with his elbow. "Hey tell me...has T.J. been making a move on Kari while I was gone?" He narrowed his eyes. "I know he has..."

"The Pathways huh?" Ken mused as he held his chin in his hand. "I don't think that this is the Digital World. There are too many humans walking around. Not to mention that Veemon is the first digimon I've seen here."
He frowned as Davis nudged him with his elbow. "Hey tell me...has T.J. been making a move on Kari while I was gone?" He narrowed his eyes. "I know he has..."
"Actually Davis, we've all been worried about you. T.K. and Kari, along with everyone else for that matter, have been trying to find you." Truth be told, T.K. had been comforting Kari, but there was no intimacy to it, so he felt no need to cause Davis any trouble. "We should probably find somewhere to talk. I could really go for something to eat. I'll tell you all about how Yolie has been bouncing off the walls looking for you. It came as quite a shock to the rest of us that she'd put this much effort into finding you."
Meanwhile, Wormmon was happy to see Veemon. "I'm doing fine Veemon. I'm just glad we found you. Everyone was so worried."

"Yeah I know, it's wierd isn't it? This must be one of those other worlds. You know, like that wierd place that grants wishes."
Davis sighed. "Oh well, I know he is and you're just not telling me. The jerk." Then he raised his eyebrow. "Yolei? Trying to find me? That's odd. Shouldn't she be more worried about you? You are her boyfriend after all."

Ken frowned. "Uh oh, Yolie is going to be pissed. Not only you disappearing, but now me as well... But I suppose if we are in a world that grants wishes, we can just find that wishgranting item and wish ourselves back home. But first, we should find some place to eat. I'm pretty hungry. I'm sure you know a good place to go."
Wormmon nodded in agreement. "I'm hungry too Ken."

"Sure, we're starving! Then again, you know Veemon, he's always hungry. I think Gatomon would like him more if I put him on a diet."
"Davish!!!" Veemon yelled, scowling at him.
Davis gave him a peace sign and laughed. "Just kidding Veemon. Ok, let's head over to that diner we saw the other day."
