Takato Matsuki- A Fan's Journey

[Takato Matsuki]

Takato frowned as he walked past the cafe, firemen bustling through it. "Awe man, just when I finally found some place, it turns out it's burnt to a crisp." He sighed dejectedly. "I'll never understand this place. It's so weird."

Trotting along next to him, his partner and ever faithful companion, Guilmon, held his tummy and groaned. "Takatomon, I'm hungry!"

"I know boy, but this place is like a maze. If only I could find the food court." As he scanned the shops, one in particular jumped out to him. "Maid Cafe? I wonder what that's like. Come on Guilmon."

"Yay!"

As the pair walked in, he spotted several girls, all of them dressed in maid outfits. Sitting down at a table, a short girl with bright green eyes and very long blue hair, so long that it reached down well past her knees, approached him. "Welcome to the Maid Cafe!" she greeted him with excessive cheer. "My name is Konata Izumi, I'll be your waitress. Please take your time and enjoy your stay." She handed him a menu and leaned forward. "When you're ready to order, just call me over. Please tip big!" With that, she ran off to go serve other customers.

"That was... odd," Takato stated as he looked at his menu. "See anything you like Guilmon?"

"Bread! Hurray! Takatomon, I want bread! And peanut butter! Ooh, I wonder if they have Guilmon Bread."

Takato laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "Somehow, I kinda doubt it, but we'll see when she comes back." He went back to reading his menu, scanning over the items that were available.

Soon enough, Konata had come back to the table. "Ready to order? Or do you need more time?"

"I'll take an order of the beef bowl and a milkshake, chocolate, and do you by chance have bread shaped like his head?" Takato asked, motioning to Guilmon's head.

Konata shook her head. "Nope, sorry."

"Oh, that's okay. I didn't think so, but I just wanted to make sure. I'll also have some bread and peanut butter with that."

"Gotcha! I'll have that for ya in a jiffy!" Konata bowed and then walked off to have his meal prepared.

Waiting for his meal, Takato sighed. "What a strange place. This world is so odd sometimes." Off towards the door, he heard the twinkle of the door opening. "But this place really does seem popular."

[Davis Motomiya]

Davis grabbed Veemon by the scruff of his neck as he ran in. "What'shh he deal Davissh!" he yelled.

"Would you calm down Veemon? I know you're hungry, but we can't just go barging in!" With that he walk-carried Veemon over to a table while Ken and Wormmon followed. Sitting down, he saw a taller older girl with blue hair and red eyes walk over. Blushing a bit, he noticed her nametag read 'Yakumo'.

"Hi, how are you today? May I take your order?" she said in a quiet voice.

Blushing a bit again, he said. "Um sure, I'll have a bowl of ramen if you've got it, and so will my friend here." Turning to Ken he scratched his head. "Hey Ken, what do you want buddy?"

[Ken Ichijouji]

Ken thought it over for a moment. "I'll have the same. What do you want Wormmon?"

"If you wouldn't mind, I think I'll have some okinomiyaki."

Ken nodded. "A ramen and some okinomiyaki for my friend." After addressing the waitress, he turned to Davis. "I didn't realize you liked these places Davis. Do you come here often?"

[Takato Matsuki]

When he heard the bell, he had paid no attention to the people walking in, but the moment he heard their voices, Takato's head shot up immediately. "Did I hear that right?" He looked over at the group of two boys and two digimon. His eyes sparkled with joy. "NO WAY!"

Not even thinking he'd be interrupting them, he immediately rushed up to them. "Ohmigod! It's Davis and Ken! This is like a dream come true! I'm such a big fan! I've watched every single episode! I can't believe you guys are really here!"

By now, he had run out of breath from spewing words out at the two and had to take several deep breaths just to keep from passing out. "Oh, this is my partner Guilmon," he said, motioning to the red dino that was watching Veemon and Wormmon warily. "Say hello boy."

Sensing his partner's good nature, he immediately dropped his attitude. "HI!"

[Davis Motomiya]

Davis looked at Veemon and Ken wide-eyed before turning back to the boy. Davis smiled but something was bugging him. "Um...hi. How do you know our names? I've never been on TV, but Ken ha - OH, I bet you're a fan of our soccer team aren't you! Hahahaha! Well I'm more than willing to sign some autographs for you, um...what was your name again?"

Turning to the red Digimon named Guilmon, Davis was reminded again of how odd everything was. "Ah!" he said, turning to Ken. "Hey, do you think this is like...another World Tour or something! Maybe this is still our world, we're just in another area, and this kid is one of the local DigiDestined! I bet he's the leader, he's got the goggles for it."

[Ken Ichijouji]

Ken looked at the boy in bewilderment. "Um..." He didn't know how to react to a strange boy claiming to be a fan of his and Davis's. He wasn't even sure how this boy even knew who he was. He was sure it wasn't from soccor though.

When Davis proposed the idea that he was a local DigiDestined, he cupped his chin in his hand and thought about it. "I suppose it's possible, but something just isn't adding up." He looked at the boy in front of him. "How exactly do you know us? How did you become a DigiDestined?"

Takato's eyes lit up when Davis mentioned an autograph. "REALLY!? Oh wow, Kazu and Kenta will be so jealous. I bet they'd try and say that they got to meet Ryo Akiyama or something. Oh, I'm Takato Matsuki, by the way."

He listened in as Davis and Ken talked about him being a local DigiDestined, and when Ken turned to him, he pretended that he wasn't easedropping, despite it being painfully obvious. "How exactly do you know us? How did you become a DigiDestined?" Ken asked him.

He rubbed the back of his head gingerly. "Well, you see, that's kind of tough to answer. I mean, it's kinda crazy, but here you guys are, right in front of me. As for Guilmon here, I made him." He pulled out his D-Arc and placed it on the table. "I scanned a drawing through the card slot, and then, he was just kind of born. I guess you could say I'm the leader, but there's only three of us... and Rika is still kind of a "do her own thing" type, though she is warming up. I wonder how they're doing without me. I hope they could beat that wild digimon. Oh, and we're called Tamers, not DigiDestined like you guys on the TV Show."

[Davis Motomiya]

Davis looked at Guilmon. "You...you MADE him? You sure there's not a rogue virus following you or something?" he said, looking at Ken. He knew they were both thinking about their friend Willis in America.

Davis didn't quite know how to respond to that last one. "TV Show...what TV show? We weren't on any TV show. Well, Ken's been a few times, since he's like a super-genius and all. And I've been shown in local soccer games broadcasts, but other than that..."

Davis looked at Ken, hoping he was having a better time figuring this all out than he was.

[Ken Ichijouji]

Ken's eyes had widened when he came to a realization. "TV Show, every episode, big fan." He looked over at Davis, a look of surprise in his eyes. "Davis, I think we may be fictional characters to him."

He suddenly frowned and looked back at the boy. "Wait, did you say Ryo Akiyama? Do you know him?"

[Takato Matsuki]

Takato looked puzzled. "Virus? Oh, you mean from 'Our War Game' right? I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know, though I kinda remember the premise."

When Ken mentioned his big conclusion, Takato started to panic. "Awe crap, I was trying to avoid that! Oh man, I screwed this one up! Really, don't think anything of it!"

He stopped when Ken asked him, "Wait, did you say Ryo Akiyama? Do you know him?"

Takato frowned. "Well not personally. He's a big celebrity though. He's the Digimon King, and he's really cool. He's like the best card player there is. Oh man, it'd be cool to meet him too."

He looked at the table that Davis and Ken were sitting at. "Hey, do you think I could sit with you guys? I mean, we all have digimon partners, so we could trade stories and stuff. I'm sure we could benefit from each other's help as well. I don't really know my way around this place or anything about it. What do you say?"

[Davis Motomiya]

Davis' jaw dropped. "WHAT!? We're just fictional charactes to him!?" he jumped up and stared at Takato. "But...that's impossible! Everything we've ever done was real, how could it be fake?"

Veemon stared at Takato for a moment too, before tugging on Davis' arm. "Davissh, you're making a shhcene." Nodding, Davis sat back down. "Um...sure, you can sit with us. No problem.

[Takato Matsuki]

Takato rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Thanks. I can't believe I'm eating with my heroes." Helping Guilmon into a spot, he sat down with Davis and Ken, the digiDestined of Miracles and Kindness. "But just because you're fictional in my world, doesn't mean you aren't real. I mean, I've seen quite a few fictional characters walking around. But nothing like you guys!" He was bouncing up and down on his chair again. "Oh man, this is so exciting!"

[Ken Ichijouji]

Ken held his chin inquizitively. "Now that you mention it, I think I remember seeing our waitress on TV once." He couldn't place the name and face to any one show, as he didn't watch much television, but she did seem familiar in some way.

He frowned as he thought. "Perhaps we've been gathered here for a reason. Maybe this world is in need of our help."

[Davis Motomiya]

Davis turned back and looked at Ken. "I guess that's always a possibility...but why aren't any of the others here too?"

Thinking suddenly, Davis grabbed Takato and shook him. "You haven't seen Kari have you! You do know her, right!? If she's hear, TELL ME!"

[Takato Matsuki]

"Ah ah ah! Sto op sha king me!" Takato called as he was shook vigorously by Davis.

Davis finally stopped shaking him. "And yes I know who Kari is. I'm not stupid you know," he huffed. "But no, I haven't seen her. Sorry."

Wow, he thought surprised, the show wasn't kidding when it said he had a thing for Kari.
