In his cloak
Regular Appearance
Character Name: Umehito Nekozawa
Nicknames/Psuedonames: Everyone calls him Nekozawa or Nekozawa-senpai
Character Age or Age Appearance: 18
Race/Species: Human
Physical Description: Costumed description is dark baggy clothes or cloak with black/dark green hair and blue eyes. Un-costumed Nekozawa is considered a "heart throb" and "handsome prince" and is easy on the eyes. He has blond hair that goes to his chin and dazzling blue eyes. His skin is pale because of his "sickness" to sunlight.
Distinguishing Features: His cloak or black clothes, his cat puppet Beelzenef, his haunting blue eyes, deep enchanting voice, and when the wig is off, his blond hair.
Personal History: Umehito Nekozawa is depicted as a hooded figure holding a cat puppet named Beelzenef. Umehito hates bright light to the point that he refers to anyone who drags him into lights as 'murderers'. The Black Magic Club’s president, he tries to get people to join his club though is not too successful. However, anyone who joins gets a free "Beelzenef" doll. Umehito has one as a puppet, but it is also available as a voodoo doll. Nekozawa claims that if you write the name of the person you hate on the back of the doll, the person will be showered with misfortunes. Tamaki, especially, is superstitious about Nekozawa's curses due to having experienced them first-hand, or so he believes.
Umehito is actually very handsome under his hood, although he wears a black wig over his naturally blond hair and bright blue eyes. He has a younger sister named Kirimi who is afraid of the dark and cats. As a result, the two siblings were not able to be around one another until Tamaki and the Host Club got involved and prompted Umehito to adapt to light and display his more heroic and princely side. In the end, it is Umehito's love for and desire to protect his little sister that endears him to her, despite his photophobia; he braves daylight to save Kirimi. Although he collapses right afterwards from exposure to sunshine, Kirimi loves him all the more for his willingness to brave that which he loathes so much to protect her. Despite the Host Club's efforts to help him brave the sun, he is still just as obsessed with his occult passions. In the Halloween episode, he appears before Tamaki (from a coffin no less) and offers his services in helping scare the student body. The Nekozawa family traces their lineage to the Tokarev Dynasty in Russia, suggesting that Nekozawa family may work with gun manufacturing companies (a firearm even appears in the manga and anime).
Personality: Nekozawa's family worships cats and various cat deities so Nekozawa has a strong likening to cats. He's also very kind hearted...if a little mischevious in getting memebers to try and join his club. He's fairly well off, even among the rich students at Ouran. Nekozawa is deathly afraid of sunlight and bright lights, though it's partially psychological and partially an actual sickness. He always carrys around a cat puppet named Beelzenef which he talks to. It is also, supposedly, what he can use to curse others, as writing someone's name on the back of the doll or one of the figures can cause that person misfortune and grief for the rest of their lives.
Magical Abilities/Special Skills: Can perform curses and ceremonies as well as other occult things including Tarot, palm reading, magic, placing and perfoming curses, and holding ceremonies for various events.
Weaknesses: Sunlight for long periods of time, bright florescent lights
Anime/Manga/Game Character is from: Ouran High School Host Club
Timeline: After volume 11 of the manga. While trying to hide from the new "sporting event" that the Host Club had managed to get the entire school involved in, Nekozawa was trying to get inside one of the abandoned classrooms to shut the blinds and escape the bright sun when he collapsed from exhaustion and weakness. He found himself in The Pathways and has located an abandoned mansion which he has fixed up and taken residence in. He's currently inviting anyone will to, to live there free of charge (as he is a bit lonely); however, no one has arrived to be a tennant in his mansion yet. Nekozawa is known in The Pathways as being one of the few rich people there (the other being Ritsu Kasanoda, a school mate of Nekozawa's though neither know the other is trapped in The Pathways) and he's trying slightly to get over his fear and "sickness" of light exposure...but it's not going too well.
